FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent Makeup, also referred to as micropigmentation, is the introduction of small amounts of hypoallergenic pigments into the skin as an alternative to daily applied cosmetics. The result is that the desired cosmetic effect lasts for years.
  • Is it painful?
Everyone tolerates pain differently. Topical anesthetics are very effective in blocking pain, they are applied before and during the procedure to ensure the most comfortable experience possible. Clients describe a "tingling" sensation, or report a discomfort level somewhere between 0 - 3, on a scale of 0 - 10, with 10 being the worst. The Harmonix latest digital European technology delivers the highest quality needles, sleek & silent system resulting in less client discomfort.
  • How long does the procedure take?
Consultation will take about an hour: will discuss desired outcomes, determine colors, and after care follow-up. Time of procedure varies with each individual with an average of one hour for each procedure.
  • What is recovery time?
Swelling and redness are the potential consequences, which will disappear within a couple days after procedure. The color looks 40 - 60% stronger than the final result. The skin takes at least 45 days to turn over. One free touch-up procedure may be necessary 6 - 8 weeks after the procedure.
  • If the makeup is permanent, why I will need a retouch?
The pigment applied to the skin is permanent, however will fade over time. Typically, after 3 - 7 years the client may desire to have a touch-up to enhance the existing pigment color. Duration of the permanent makeup varies with each individual. Sun exposure, medications, skin type, and health issues play a role in the longevity of the applied pigment.
